Pleasing God

Our aim in life is simply to please God.  But what pleases God?  Here are a few ideas.

…we make it our aim to please him. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.  11 Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade others…

14 For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; 15 and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.

18 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. 20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ… (2 Corinthians 5)

We are ambassadors for Christ (v.20).  We to try to pursuade people to trust in Jesus because we are compelled by love and fear (v.11,14).  We fear for their eternity and wish them to experience Christ’s love that we have.

This year choose a person you know and look for opportunities to share your faith with them.  Invite them to church or events where they can hear the good news.  Do you aim to please God?  If so, make it visible in your calendar, wallet, and daily decisions.  Let’s make and grow disciples of Christ in 2018.
