Are We There Yet?

This is our new sermon series commencing on 5 September.

Come and join us as we travel through Luke’s gospel.

Earlier in the year we saw Jesus set out for  Jerusalem in Luke 9-10.

We have now jumped to the end of the journey, as Jesus approaches the city.

The title of the series is, ‘Are we there yet?’ You may be asking that
same question at the moment! In our house, we calculated that the
return to school date is about as far in the future as lockdown was in
the past – in other words, we’re halfway through. But as we wait to
‘arrive’ on the other side of lockdown, we are of course waiting for a
much better and brighter day – the day Paul talked about in
Philippians 3:20-21,

‘… we eagerly await a Saviour from [heaven], the Lord Jesus Christ,
who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his
control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his
glorious body.’

That will be a VERY good day, worth eagerly awaiting. Let’s put our
hope there, so that we can continue being faithful to Jesus right now,
in our isolation and frustration, and in whatever circumstances may
come next.

We will see how the Kingdom becomes clearer as Jesus gets closer to Jerusalem.
