Calendars

At the end of every year, as part of my preparation for the following year,  I set up my calendar.  My calendar is a useful tool to manage my time so that I have energy for my priorities.  I list all the important events that I need to be part of and I allocate times and days to them to make sure they do not get bullied off my agenda by ‘urgent’ things. Some of the priorities I have already locked into my  calendar are my bible study group, my prayer triplet; my work for God, and my family events.

Though I do not know if I will be alive next year, I do know that I am prepared at least for some events in my life. Yet It seems that God too has a calendar for me too.

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2)

God has a calendar for us. God has prepared certain events for us to be part of to do His work in.  How exciting is it to know that our year has been planned by the almighty. In 2019 opportunities  will be made for us to do the work of Jesus.  Calendarise your planned good works for God to make sure they get done. Yet be flexible too, for God will introduce other good works that you did not plan for.
