Euthanasia

Does euthanasia work? If death is permanent and brings relief from the sufferings of life, then yes, euthanasia works!  But what if death is temporary?

Christians believe in the resurrection of the dead. When the Lord Jesus returns all people, both living and dead, will physically rise again to be held accountable for their humanity.

11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened… And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. (Revelation 20)

We also believe that, by faith in Jesus as Lord, our sins have been dealt with.

21 For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. (1 Corinthians 15)

We Christians live life in the surety of the coming resurrection. We strive to connect with others; to make and grow disciples for the kingdom before it comes in its fullness! We make decisions knowing that everything in this life is temporary.

The dilemma of Euthanasia is that it does not work because whilst the person escapes this life, they lose the opportunity to repent of their sins, and are fast-tracked to the throne of God and judgment! Euthanasia is an unintentional cruelty.

Please make all your decisions in the light of the Resurrection of the dead.
