One of my favourite books in the Bible is Proverbs. The sayings in this book were given by God to tease and expand our thoughts about Him and life. God uses these puzzles to challenge what we think we know so as to enable us to know more. Let me show you two passages about how to get rich.

There is one who scatters, yet increases more;

And there is one who withholds more than is right, but it leads to poverty.

The generous soul will be made rich,

And he who waters will also be watered himself. (Proverbs 11:23-25)

The soul of a lazy man desires, and has nothing;

But the soul of the diligent shall be made rich. (Proverbs 13:4)

From Proverbs 11 we learn that generosity is essential to being rich.  God is generous and expects generosity from His people – God gives that we may give away.  From Proverbs 13 we learn that diligence is also essential to being rich.  The path to riches requires one to be alert and hardworking.  When we place these proverbs together we get a theology of stewardship.  God enriches us, so that we enrich others, by diligently investing His resources – we are to be good and faithful servants.
